We are delighted that you would like to participate in the project. Below are the details of what we will be doing throughout the year and an explanation of the project.
This is quite a large project and will require a solid commitment throughout the year. In June, we will travel to São Tomé for one week to work directly with the Associação Kêlê students.
What we will be doing
Once the team is selected, we will start meet on a regular basis near the end of term 1.
The purpose of those meetings is to:
- Start building our Team and developing a sense of collaboration and support
- Plan and develop activities and lessons that will be used throughout the rest of the school year.
- Correspond with and have periodic video conferences with the students at Kêlê
The ideal candidate will possess these skills and characteristics:
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a group.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and conditions without stress.
- Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for your own actions and behavior.
- Adaptability to work with different people that you may or may not know.
Pre-Requisites
- Studying Portuguese at a minimum of Capable level
- Passing all courses
- Minimal absences
- No discipline issues

Important Note:
At this early stage, we are unable to calculate the exact costs to participate, but based on the 2026 visit, the cost was $2200€ / person.
- This cost includes:
- Round-trip Airfare
- Ground transportation in Sâo Tomé
- Lodging at the destination hotel (4-5 Stars)
- All meals & a daily snack
- All activities and events
- Insurance
- Tourist visit fee
What is not covered:
- Incidentals such as snacks or personal items
- Required medical consultation and medications or vaccines prior to travel
- Visa (if required) fees
